Here is the background: I am 27 years old and I just learned to driver a little over 7 months ago. I know that as a COMPLETELY new driver my insurance costs weren't going to be the best so I was surprised when most if not all companies I went to quoted me at about 400-450 for 6 months of full coverage. I thought this was very very good because that is about what my husband pays and hes had an perfect driving record since he was 17. Well when I went in to buy my first car ( brand new and financed, so I needed full coverage based on my state laws. ) Before I left the lot I called my chosen insurance company and they activated my insurance for me. To my dismay but not complete shock they told me they would have to raise the quote because I didn't have a driving record yet. ( At this point I had only had the license about 3-4 weeks I don't quite remember ). I was told this should clear up the next time I renew. Well my premium has actually gone up fifty dollars ( instead of down 150 )! I was shocked. So, out of curiosity I got quotes from other places now and it was just as expensive if not more so. What happened? I've had no moving or parking violations, my driving record is perfect. I thought I would ask the yahoo community before I call my insurance company to point fingers.

Car insurance problems?!?! Need help!!?

Basically my hubby took out insurance about 10 months ago with a new insurance company. He had 4 years no claims with his old company so informed the new company of this. The new insurance company have been taking out the payments every month from our bank however we have never had his insurance documents off them. When he contacted them the other day to query this they informed him that because the old insurance company will not supply them with no claims info they can not cover him. However all this time and even today they have taken their monthly payment. Surely they should not be taking payments for something they are saying they can not cover?? They have sent him a 30 day temp cover note for now while we try to sort it but it isnt looking good at the mo. My question is should they have cancelled the agreement before now then and ceased taking money from our account?

I was in a car accident recently. there was not really any damage to either vehicle, I rear ended someone. the police report was filed and the police told me that the person I rear ended wants to claim that she has had injury to her back (which is ridiculous because we were only going 5 mph). Hi, i am currently 7 months pregnant and found out that our short term disability insurance will only give us $800 a month for disability. I asked if I can opt out of our employers short term disability and apply for state disability and I was told no because I have been here for longer than 18 months. Eye and Health Insurance ( College Student)?

Just recently I was diagnosed with Uveitis in my left eye. I had previously been diagnosed with it and my left eye just flared up again this year. As a 21 year old College student I can barely make ends meet and well now my question is, what kind of Medical/Eye/RX insurance would you guys recommend. I'm not ensured and I still have to go trough treatment, see specialist, blood test, chest exams, etc. My visit to the specialist was already around $120 and $75 per eye drops. I wanted to get glasses but seem how this slapped me in the face I would rather pay for an insurance before I'm forced to drop out because I can't pay my tuition.I'm also very unfamiliar with Insurance policies and as much research as I have done I have found little to nothing. I'm really not on a good enough financial status to pay a 100+ a month Insurance as a college student. Hopefully someone has some tips or tricks or at least some recommendations. P.S. excuse the bad spelling the brightness of the computer hurts my eye a bit and its hard to see my errors.
